  • Just a few words to let you know that our dear friend Eleanor Caughman passed away today, Monday, October 27th about 10 o'clock. She was 88 years young and dancing ... just 3 days prior to her massive stroke last Monday (20th).

We do not have details on arrangements as yet, but will forward as soon as we hear.  I'm sure details will also be in the State Newspaper.

Of course, Whitkers in Newberry are in charge of the arrangements and her visitation will be at the same church that GP's was [downtown Columbia]. Probably Wed. or Thurs. night for visitation and funeral the next day.

Her home address is: 3427 Coleman Drive, Columbia, SC 29205.  Helen will share the cards with the rest of the family.

Frank Karr (Eleanor's dance partner & best friend for the past few years) called Ann Dawson after he had gotten back home today and told her the news.

Please keep all of the family and Frank in thought & prayers.

  • Hi Everyone:

I just received this e-mail from Harold and Tink.  I knew that Harold had been having numerous tests done to determine what was wrong. I never thought about cancer because one message I got said that he had some mini strokes.  I thought that you would like to know about his condition.

    Elaine

    Dear Friends& Family:

I think by now most of you heard of my health problems.  I have stage 4 lung cancer. Please don't be sad for us, we have had a wonderful life, marriage and doing a job we both loved.  I have called for over 50 years and have met the nicest people. The last 20 years staying home calling for B#'s, Wheels, White Owls , Foot N' Fiddle & Skippers have been great. Hope we have made your square dancing more enjoyable.

Because we want to spend our last months together, I am closing B#'s and resigning the Wheels effective as of this e-mail .We love you all.

With All Our Love & Thanks,

    Harold & Tink

    See ya soon
